I got one!

Yet another classy find from Godawful Wedding Crap! Man, I can't imagine any bride's t-shirt wardrobe being complete without this little number:Even better? You can get this printed on anything from mugs to calendars to aprons to clocks since it's from CafePress. Oh joy!

Hearts galore.........

So my etsy store is up and running for a few days and I was really chuffed to see a bunch of hearts when I checked to see who had picked me as one of the favourites! I wasn't expecting any and suddenly I clicked on the page and the whole bunch of them came twirling out on the screen!! For those of you who are familiar with etsy, you know that this is a brilliant feeling!!

Its taking me some time to list items as my photo files were too big for etsy and I have to do a lot of tampering to get them compliant. grrrrrrrr......

So I have lots of stock to list, but it will be streaming online slowly but surely!!! lol

have a great weekend everyone!

New Toy

I have a new baby! No, not a real baby (are you kidding?)

Last night I did a little impulse shopping and picked up a little Nikon camera! I can't take a picture of it (::duh::) but here's the idea:It's so cute and perky looking. I know it's not the best camera out there (my husband has an SLR I steal occasionally) but it was pretty cheap and will fit in my suit pocket when I toodle around at weddings.

This weekend is going to be crazy for me -- I have a wedding on Saturday that I've planned in 3 months! We have a million moving pieces as usual and my brain's a little fried. Plus this is one of the first weddings the venue has ever done! I'll try to take photos as I go so you can see what the daily life of a wedding planner is like.

Stay tuned!

Congratulations, Telliegrams!

I've blogged before about Telliegrams, which is a great company that makes personalized favor boxes amongst other cute paper products (favor tags, anyone?). I just got the latest copy of The Bride & Bloom magazine in my mailbox and guess who I see featured on page 18?Those are some of their cute favor boxes!! The Telliegrams ones are the black & white one, the silver on on the bottom left, and the green one with the adorable 'B' tag. The other ones featured are by Dauphine Press, and are about double the cost. What do you think? Would you use these cute favor boxes for your wedding? How about a shower or a bridesmaids luncheon?

This vase is just too cool. For some reason it reminds me of an ant farm:
Not your mom's dustbuster:
While I'm thinking of ant farms, does anyone know Mitch Hedberg? Amy and I laugh for hours over this guy. He's one of my favorite comedians and this is one of my favorite jokes:
I got an ant farm but them fellas didn't grow shit.

Publication Day

Well, today's the day. I know that a few copies have already snuck out there, but as of now The Kingdom of Bones is official goods.

I don't think I've ever had a novel that's attracted as much advance reaction as this one... and let me tell you, that's never been for want of trying.

I think it's a great-looking piece of production. With its old-fashioned typesetting and deckled page edges it looks and feels like some rare object that's been put together out of yellow fog and old parchment.

I've tried something new this time around. Taken together, the original research plan and detailed research diary contain over 20,000 words of background material. There was never any question of including them in the book, but the acknowledgements page offers a link to thekingdomofbones.com where both documents are available as downloadable PDFs.

Trust me, they're for obsessives only. Them, and anyone interested in the level of detail involved in writing a historical.

I must be a glutton for punishment. I've another under way and a third one planned. They're not sequels, but their worlds overlap in a way that should make for one unified, three-headed opus.

There you go. Advertisement over.

Put your red dress on!

Directions made easy!

WeddingBee clued me in on this awesome service and I thought you might like it too! Dial DIR-ECT-IONS from any cell phone, say where you are now, where you want to be, and it'll give you turn-by-turn directions by text! The best part is that you can create an event (like your wedding), and when your guests call they just have to say the name of your party. Check out their website for even more information on how it works.

Sale @ Kate's Paperie

I'm back! Kerry had the best guess and I was in Cape Hatteras, NC last week. The photo was from Ocracoke, NC, where we honeymooned (and is just a short ferry ride away from Hatteras). Here's a photo my very talented father took of the beach:While supplies last, check out Kate's Paperie for a great fall sale!

Note to self........

Ok so I'm diving head first into a dyeing excercise for a plum coloured ensemble, and all the while I'm thinking to myself, I'm forgetting something!! Guessed it yet? yes.........that's it I forgot the gloves!! That will tell you how wrapped up I was on the job at hand! Well everything came out a delicious plum colour, having mixed two different dyes in order to get the correct colour. I am looking forward to using many different tones in this outfit, (pics will be posted ).

Today is photoshoot day, and my model is coming around to shimmy in some of my latest etsy collection. (Which will be available soon!). Its not a great day for weather so we will have to really get the ol thinking caps on! Wish me luck.

Second Variety (2)

Right now I can't do much more than pass along what's appearing in the trades - here's an extract from the fullest piece I've seen so far, in The Hollywood Reporter.

There's also an expanded version of the Variety coverage now online. Reuters, Hollywood News and Movieweb all carry versions of the story, none of which mention the creator credit. But it's not like I'm sensitive, or anything. Not complaining. Just, y'know. Pointing it out.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

The "CSI" trio of CBS, Jerry Bruckheimer TV and director Danny Cannon are reuniting for a new drama project based on the British limited sci-fi series "Eleventh Hour."

CBS has ordered a pilot with a hefty penalty for the untitled project, which Jerry Bruckheimer TV is producing with Granada International Media and Warner Bros. TV. The penalty is rumored to amount to a 13-episode production commitment, and WBTV is said to be proceeding with making the series, which is expected to net strong international sales given the Bruckheimer brand's popularity worldwide. CBS would neither confirm nor deny the deal Tuesday.

The drama centers on a special science adviser to the government who, with his feisty female bodyguard in tow, saves people from the worst abuses of science.

The four-hour original series, which aired last year on ITV, starred Patrick Stewart.

Feature writer-director Mick Davis will pen the script for the U.S. version. "CSI" executive producer Cannon, who directed the pilot for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and is credited with creating the hit franchise's distinct look, is set to helm the pilot.

Davis and Cannon are executive producing with Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and an executive from Granada to be named later.
